Back in the early days of gaming, when the business was beginning to lift off as a true business, the company known as Blizzard decided to add an expansion onto their game, Starcraft, with the expansion becoming known as Broodwar. The expansion was sold alongside the base game from stores in what was known as a battlechest edition. This was the first known development of a game being sold in multiple editions. Later on, the two would be merged, and Starcraft would only be sold as a combined edition, for a mere $20.

In our present day, however, the pricing for different editions has spiraled out of control. Now, upon release of a new game from any Triple A company, A game has been chopped up into several editions, each with different minute pieces of content, which most consumers have condemned, including our interviewee.
